Sarah Bartrum was born in Hitchin in 1970 but spent most of her formative years growing up in Bramhall, Cheshire. She studied Education and Maths at Exeter University, interspersed with hanging onto icy cold rock ledges on the end of a rope. Since then she has avoided being a teacher in a regular school but enjoyed a variety of other roles and activities instead including: Traveling, T-shirt packing, Management Trainer, Military Wife, Cyclist, Mountaineer, Mother, Chairperson, Nanny, Dish washer, IT System Lead and TEFL teacher.
At last Sarah has moved to Devon, putting an end to her nomadic lifestyle as a military wife. Now she intends to settle with her lifelong partner Al and their two young children. She’s looking forward to staying put and enjoying a more permanent writing space. Of course, the temptations of sailing, beaches and the tors of Dartmoor, may tug her out of that cave, now and then. Nothing like the outdoors to get the creative ghosts jumping.
